UK <strong>postal volumes have fallen by more than 80% since 2000<\/strong>, reflecting a clear shift away from print towards digital, real\u2011time engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Customers now expect:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Real\u2011time responses<\/li>\n<li>Personalised interactions<\/li>\n<li>Consistency across channels<\/li>\n<li>A more human\u2011like experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>AI has a critical role to play in meeting those expectations but only if it is applied with the right foundations in place.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>AI is accelerating opportunity &#8211; and complexity<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Speakers explored how AI is already being used to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Personalise customer experiences at scale<\/li>\n<li>Orchestrate journeys and workflows<\/li>\n<li>Recommend channels and timing<\/li>\n<li>Support operational decision\u2011making<\/li>\n<li>Connect data, journeys and channels into a single customer view<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, many organisations are struggling with fragmented tools, siloed workflows and inconsistent messaging. Add growing regulatory scrutiny, and it becomes clear that AI adoption without structure creates additional risk as well as opportunity.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Why governance is a strategic capability<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Governance must be built into AI\u2011driven communications from the start, not added at the end. To scale AI safely and effectively, organisations need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clean, accessible data<\/li>\n<li>Modern, integrated architecture<\/li>\n<li>Structured, reusable content<\/li>\n<li>Joined\u2011up operating models<\/li>\n<li>Visibility and control across the customer journey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is particularly critical as regulation evolves. Transparency, accountability and auditability are no longer optional, and accountability always sits with the organisation, not the technology.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>CXM success comes down to three things<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>One simple framework resonated strongly throughout the session:<\/p>\n<p><strong>CXM success = Content + Context + Control<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Delivering the right content, to the right audience, at the right time, via the right channel requires more than technology alone.
